Head Coach Sherri Coale
On the game:
"We shot better from 2 than they did. We shot better from 3 than they did. We shot better from the free throw line than they did. We had more rebounds than they did. We had more assists than they did, and we lost. That doesn't happen very often."
On not being able to get a rhythm going:
"It wasn't a very pretty basketball game, that's for sure. I don't know when I've ever had four of five starters foul out. I've just never seen it."
On Iowa State's physical post play:
"It's really hard to defend when there's a physical post-up and you're not allowed to fight it. It's just really difficult. They did a great job of posting up and demanding the basketball."
On Aaryn Ellenberg's ankle injury affecting her play:
"It's been better. I think she tweaked it early in the game and was affected by it a little bit."
On being able to create offense:
"We tried to run our shooters off screen and got called for illegal screens, so that didn't work. We tried to throw it in to the post and got called for illegal post-ups, so we couldn't do that anymore. We were a little bit handcuffed in what we could do. Shots are hard to come by when you can't create them for one another."
On if Iowa State's physicality:
"They're really tough. They're always really tough."
Junior G Morgan Hook
On difficulty of sustaining momentum:
"I know for us if it was during a crucial possession we would turn it over or when we needed a stop they would get an offensive rebound and immediately take our life from us."
Junior C Nicole Griffin
On the physicality of the game:
"It was physical. It's just frustrating how physical you can be or you cannot be. It's kind of hard to determine on offense."
On difficult assessing physicality throughout game:
"I mean after a while you learn not to be too physical or you're going to get a foul called."

On the game:
"First of all, I want to, on behalf of myself and my family, thank the Oklahoma family for the wonderful signs. That was very classy, very nice of them. It was a great environment tonight and a great college basketball game. Two teams that played as hard as they could. The first half was a little bit frenetic and ugly, but the second half I thought both teams made plays. And obviously Hallie [Christofferson] was All-Big 12-like tonight. I'm just really, really proud of our team's effort to beat one of the best teams in our league, and certainly a team that I have the ultimate respect for. Just a really, really big win for our team."
On the team's effort to get to the line:
"We really hadn't been doing a good job of that. We worked really hard on that the last couple of weeks in practice, of being more aggressive, taking the ball off the bounce, trying to get the ball in the post more and trying to be more aggressive and I thought we did a good job of it. Obviously, when they were behind in the end, they put us there a few extra times. But we had a couple of mismatches with Hallie [Christofferson] in the post against the smaller kid and got the ball under her and she converted a couple plays. It's something that when you go on the road you have to be in attack mode. And when we've lost a couple games, we've been a little timid. I thought tonight we were good off the bounce and made some good decisions. We only turned the ball over 14 times against a really good defensive team. So overall, offensively, that was a good effort by our team."
On committing fewer turnovers in the second half:
"We did a great job of making better decisions. We simplified our offense. We spread the court a little better. When you play against a team like this, and Nikki Moody and Brynn Williamson, our two guards, play a lot, and [Nicole] Kidd [Blaskowsky], [and] you play 105 minutes and only have one turnover, that's pretty impressive against a team like this, against Morgan Hook and [Aaryn] Ellenberg and the way they defend. We couldn't handle the ball any better, and that was a big part of our ability to get some points. Sometimes when we turned the ball over it's cost us, but I thought our guard play-as far as efficiency- with the ball was really good. We didn't make many shots. If you would have said to me that Nikki [Moody] and Brynn [Williamson] would've gone 0 for 11 and we were going to win, I wouldn't have believed it. But the zeros in the turnover column offset that, so really good effort by our team."
