NORMAN, Okla. -- After Shelby Pendley and Lauren Chamberlain each enjoyed two-home run games on Friday, senior Keilani Ricketts got in on the act Saturday morning as No. 1 Oklahoma beat Northern Colorado, 10-0, in five innings.

Ricketts belted her seventh and eighth home runs of the season, while Chamberlain added her fourth in three games as the Sooners (21-1) beat the Bears (7-15-1) by a cumulative score of 26-0 in two weekend games.

As strong as the offense was, starting pitcher Michelle Gascoigne was just as dominant in the circle for OU.

In improving to 9-1 on the season, she struck out 11 and allowed only a hit to Melissa Marchovecchio in the fourth inning that stopped rolling less than halfway to the first base bag.

Gascoigne came out firing on all cylinders, striking out the first eight batters of the game and retiring the first 10 altogether. None of the four balls put in play by the Bears during the game got beyond the infield as OU's senior threw her fourth shutout of the season.

Oklahoma opened its scoring in the first inning using a two-out rally.

After a ground out and strike out, sophomore Shelby Pendley walked before Ricketts drilled the first of her two home runs to left field. It was her 11th of the year and 40th of her career.

OU added three more runs to its lead in the following inning.

With one out, senior Brianna Turang reached on an infield single to first base. Chamberlain then stepped in and launched her home run to the bleachers in left center field. It was the 12th home run of Chamberlain's season and the 42nd of her career.

After a strikeout, Pendley kept the inning alive with a walk. She move to second on an illegal pitch and then took third on a passed ball. Senior catcher Jessica Shults drove her home by placing a double into the gap in left field.

A five-spot in the third inning put the run rule into effect.

Junior Javen Henson stood on second with two outs after a walk and an error. Chamberlain and fellow sophomore Georgia Casey followed with walks of their own to load the bases. Pendley then reached on the Sooners' third walk in a row to make it 6-0.

With the bases still loaded, Ricketts cranked her fourth career grand slam, and the Sooners' third of the year, into the stands in left center to give the game its final margin.

The Sooners' 10 runs came on just six hits as they took advantage of 10 walks by UNC pitchers and an error.
