Norman, Okla. - Within the last week, Oklahoma senior Stacey Dales (Brockville, Ontario, Canada) has been named a finalist for three national basketball awards. Most recently, Dales was selected as one of 11 finalists for this year's Conseco Nancy Lieberman Step Up Award as the nation's top Division I point guard.
She's also a finalist for the Naismith Basketball Player of the Year, Verizon Academic All-American and the Senior CLASS Award.
The 6-1 Canadian recently led the third-ranked OU women's basketball team to its third straight Big 12 regular season title. She has guided the Sooners to an overall record of 22-3 and Big 12 mark of 12-2 heading into Saturday's game against Missouri in Columbia.
Dales, the 2001 Big 12 Player of the Year, is the team leader in assists with 5.0 per outing, which also ranks fifth in the conference. She ranks fifth in the Big 12 in assists/turnover ratio with a 1.55 and 10th in scoring with 16.2 points per contest. Dales became the OU and Big 12 all-time assist leader earlier this season.

The Big 12 Conference has three finalist on this list in Dales, Lambert and Wilson.
The finalists and eventual winner are chosen by AP sportswriters nationwide based on the player's floor leadership, play-making and ball-handling skills. The award, which is in its third year, will be awarded April 20 by the Rotary Club of Detroit.
