Thomas Named Academic All-Big 12

NORMAN, Okla. - Senior Ryan Thomas was named to the Academic All-Big 12 Men's Tennis First Team, the Big 12  Conference announced Tuesday.

Thomas was named a first team member for the third straight season.  The senior from Melbourne, Australia, is majoring in marketing and was one of 14 first team members.

First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA.

To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of his/her team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.

Big 12 Conference Release

Next up, the Sooners travel to College Station, Texas, for the 2008 Big 12 Tennis Championships.  The Championships run April 24-27 at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on the University of Texas A&M campus.
