Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at Mason Rudolph

NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma men's golf team shot a final round score of 282 (-2) Sunday to finish in fourth place at the 17-team Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tenn. With their three-round 848 (-4), the Sooners finished just six shots behind champion Memphis, four strokes behind South Carolina and one shot behind Mississippi.

OU, which was in a first-place tie after Friday's first round and was eight shots out of the lead following Saturday play, turned in Sunday's fourth best round at the 7,100-yard, par-71 Vanderbilt Legends Club South Course.

Sophomore Will Kropp was impressive in his OU debut, finishing the tournament in third place at -5. The transfer from Georgia led the field after a spectacular 6-under-par first round and shot a final-round 69 (-2) with the help of five birdies. He finished three shots behind medalist Jack Belote of Memphis and two strokes behind South Carolina's Blaine Woodruff.

Junior Riley Pumphrey finished tied for 12th place with a 1-under 212 after his final round 70 (-1). Pumphrey recorded three birdies and just two bogeys on the day.

Freshman Michael Schoolcraft and senior Ryan Sirman both finished at 1 over par (214) for the tournament and tied for 17th place. Schoolcraft recorded five birdies during his even-par final round while Sirman's third-round 72 (+1) featured 15 pars.

Senior Liam Logan shot a 2-over 73 on Sunday and finished tied for 52nd place with a 221 (+8).

The Sooners will head to Macon, Ga., Oct. 8-10 for the Brickyard Collegiate, hosted by Mercer University at the Brickyard at Riverside Golf Club.
