NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma sophomore Jock Stevens was named the Moutain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week after helping the Sooners to a season best away score of 215.750 in Columbus, Ohio, last weekend.

The Moore, Okla., native who ranks first on the floor and vault nationally, posted team-high scores on both events with a 9.550 and a 9.350, respectively.

"Jock had a tremendous meet at Ohio, and even without the other teams present, he posted team high scores on both the vault and floor," said OU head coach Mark Williams. "He has just been doing a great job for our team."

Stevens also posted a season-high 8.800 on the parallel bars to help the team to its highest score of the season, a 35.350.

Junior Daniel Furney earned MPSF gymnast of the week honors after earning a spot on the U.S. National Gymnastics Team at the Winter Cup Challenge in Las Vegas on Feb. 9.
