NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma women’s golf team will compete in the 54-hole Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate on March 14-15 (Sunday and Monday). The tournament will be held at the 6,080-yard, par-72 Victoria Country Club in Victoria, Texas, and hosted by Texas State University.
Other schools participating in the 16-team event include Akron, Arkansas State, Brown, Houston Baptist, Lamar, McClennan Community College, McNeese State, Northern Illinois, Oklahoma City, Redlands Community College, Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin, St. Edwards, Texas Pan-American and Texas State.
OU junior Ellen Mueller recorded her 14th career top-20 finish at last week's Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational (17th place with a 227), and headlines the Sooner lineup this week in Texas. Brooke Collins will also compete for the Sooners. The sophomore finished in 30th place with a 232 last week.
Senior Chelsey Collins will golf from the third spot in the lineup. She carded a 235 for 45th place in San Jose. Freshman Aly Seng will make her first appearance since competing in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in February, while senior Andrea Sellmeyer, who tied for 71st last week, is in the No. 5 spot. Sellmeyer issued her most impressive performance this season by finishing in 17th place at the UCF Challenge in Florida less than two weeks ago.
OU freshman Taylor Schmidt will compete as an individual.
