NORMAN, Okla. - Blake Johnston, a sophomore guard on the Oklahoma men's basketball team, was named one of 10 first-team Academic All-Big 12 selections by the conference office today.

A native of Midland, Texas, Johnston is a public relations major. This marks the second straight year in which he has earned the honor.

Johnston has played in 24 games this year and is averaging 2.5 points, 0.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.7 steals in 11.9 minutes per contest. He is shooting .368 from three-point range and .875 from the foul line, and sports a 1.6 assist-to-turnover ratio.

First-team Academic All-Big 12 members consist of players who have maintained a 3.20 or better cumulative grade-point average or who have posted a 3.20 or better GPA each of the last two semesters.
