NORMAN, Okla. University of Oklahoma men’s gymnastics coach Mark Williams was named the chairman of the NCAA gymnastics rules committee on Thursday. The committee is responsible for the oversight of the NCAA men’s gymnastics rule book and the procedures for competitions.
“Being part of the committee is important for the collegiate level of gymnastics,” said Williams. “The committee helps make sure that all the intricacies of running a NCAA competition are taken care of.”
Williams’ one-year term as chairman comes in his fourth year as a member of the committee and just two months after being named NCAA Coach of the Year.
