OKLAHOMA CITY - The No. 2 Oklahoma women's gymnastics team won the Perfect 10 Challenge at the COX Convention Center with a 197.450 team score, defeating No. 16 Boise State, BYU and TWU on Friday.

OU tied a team record of five-straight meets with a 197 or better and scored well above its season average of 197.125. The Sooners improved to 14-0 on the season, the most wins of any team in the nation.

Oklahoma defeated its sixth ranked opponent of the year in No. 16 Boise State, besting the Broncos' 195.575. BYU finished with 194.175 while TWU scored a 191.425.

"We had to work through a lot of illness this week," said OU head coach K.J. Kindler. "We came into the meet not knowing who would be feeling well enough to compete. It's one of those meets that you had to push through all the way to the end, and we did that well."

Senior Brie Olson fought through the flu this week to win the all-around with a 39.550, including a 9.95 bar score that was the best of any competitor of the night.

OU swept the individual titles, with freshman Haley Scaman winning vault, Olson bars, sophomore Erica Brewer on beam and junior Taylor Spears on floor.

OU grabbed an early lead after scoring a 49.325 on vault, the Sooners' second-highest vault score of the season. Scaman led the Sooners with a 9.9, followed by Olson and freshman Keeley Kmieciak with identical scores of 9.875.

On bars, Oklahoma recorded its best score of the year with a 49.525, led by Olson's season high 9.95. Spears notched a career high with a 9.925 while Brewer tied her own career high with a 9.9.

Brewer also tied a career high on beam, earning a 9.95. Olson and junior Madison Mooring both contributed scores of 9.9, helping OU to a 49.300 on the event. On floor, Spears led OU with a 9.9 and Scaman followed with a 9.875 for a 49.300 team score.

The Sooners return home to Norman for its biggest meet of the year to face currently undefeated and No. 4-ranked UCLA on Friday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. CT.

"UCLA had a packed house when we went there last year, and we want to return the favor," Kindler said. "We hope Sooner fans will fill the Lloyd Noble Center to the brim on Friday."
