The No. 16 Oklahoma women’s golf team recorded a 328 (+40) in second-round action at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational and is in 12th place heading into the final round with a two-round total of 649 (+73). Leading the field is host Texas with a 626 (+50).
The tournament is being held at the 6,247-yard, par-72 Hills Country Club Golf Course in Austin, Texas. The 18-team field features nine top-25 teams.
Leading the Sooner squad was senior Hope Edge who recorded a second-round 79 (+7) and is tied for 20th with 160 (+16) total strokes. Edge improved two strokes after shooting an 81 in the first round. Sophomore Amparo Gala is tied for 31st after carding an 83 (+11) for a total of 161 (+17).
Senior Lisa Meldrum, who was tied for fourth after round one, shot a second-round 90 (+18) and is tied for 48th with a 165 (+21). Junior Emily Milberger recorded an 80 (+8), an eight stroke improvement from Sunday, and is tied for 54th with a 167 (+23). Freshman Jaclyn Stelzer also improved by three strokes after carding a second-round 86 (+14) and is tied for 82nd with a 175 (+31). Freshman Alana Donaldson, who did not play in round one due to an illness, recorded an 85 (+13).
