NORMAN, Okla. -- As the Oklahoma women's basketball team and Sooner Nation anxiously await the announcement of the 2007 Women's NCAA Tournament Field, here are a few pieces of important information.

First, Oklahoma has already clinched an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament field thanks to the Big 12 Postseason Championship.  It marks the eighth straight season OU has made the field of 64.  This is the longest streak in program history and the longest active streak in the Big 12.

Second, the official announcement of the 64-team field will come on ESPN at 7 Central tonight.  ESPN's Trey Wingo and Kara Lawson will be joined by Sooner legend Stacey Dales for an hour of bracket unveiling and analysis.  The trio will host another hour of bracket breakdown on ESPNU at 8 p.m. Central.

OU was not chosen for a live look-in by ESPN this season.

However, fans are encouraged to visit for reaction from the team and head coach Sherri Coale.  Video and quotes of their reaction will be posted on the official website of Sooner athletics as soon as possible after the show.

Currently, Bracketologist Charlie Creme has OU as a No. 2 seed in the Austin SubRegional and the Dayton Regional.  If OU ends up as a two seed, it would be the second consecutive season and the third occurrence in program history. On both previous occasions, 2001 and 2006, OU reached the Sweet 16.

OU is 14-9 in nine all-time appearances in the NCAA Tournament.  OU has reached five Sweet 16s, four under the current 64-team format.  OU has reached the Elite 8, Final Four and National Championship Game on one occasion, all during the 2002 season.

The OU Athletics Ticket Office will begin selling first and second round tournament tickets to the general public at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13.  The tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis.  To purchase your tickets please call 1-800-456-GoOU or visit the OU Ticket Office in person.  Tickets will be made available online as soon as possible through as soon as possible.
