NORMAN, Okla. - Senior Christen Secrest was named to Soccer America's National Team of the Week after her performance in last Saturday's 3-0 win at Northern Arizona. The Norman product anchored a defense that produced its fourth shutout in five games this year and helped Oklahoma improve its record to 4-1. The Sooners lead the Big 12 conference in least goals allowed (one) and goals-against average (0.20).

Secrest is a three-year letterwinner for OU who has recovered from an ankle injury last season. Prior to the injury, Secrest was named to the 1999 All-Big 12 second team, the lone Sooner to earn all-conference honors during that season. She is a two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection.

Secrest is the second Sooner to be named to Soccer America's weekly national team. Last year, goalkeeper Jana Cunningham was honored after her 16-save peformance in OU's 2-1 win at then-No. 2 Nebraska on Oct 15.

Oklahoma returns to action this weekend with a pair of home games against Southwest Missouri State (Friday at 7:30 p.m.) and Southeastern Louisiana (Saturday at 7:30 p.m.).
