NORMAN, Okla., -- Less than a week after appearing on ESPNU, Fox Sports Net and ESPN2 against No. 1 Texas over the weekend, the University of Oklahoma baseball team announced that ESPNU will broadcast the three-game series against Texas Tech in Norman at L. Dale Mitchell Park (May 20-22).
The additions will only affect the time of the Saturday game against the Red Raiders, which was originally scheduled for a 2 p.m. start time. The game on May 21 will now take place at 1 p.m. Friday’s series opener is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start and Sunday’s finale will begin at 1 p.m.
The Texas Tech series is also a free preview weekend for ESPNU (Ch. 609), so all DirecTV subscribers will be able to watch the final series of the Sooners’ 2005 regular season.
It marks the second such addition to a home series for the Sooners this year, as next week’s Nebraska series can be seen on ESPN and ESPNU. All three games against the Cornhuskers will be aired and OU will also battle Wichita State next Tuesday, in Kansas, on ESPN2.
With the addition of the Texas Tech series, OU will make a total of 11 appearances on the ESPN network in the 2005 season. Last month, OU announced eight games that would be broadcast by the ESPN network.
