NORMAN, Okla. - For a third time this season Oklahoma freshman Keilani Ricketts (San Jose, Calif.) has been named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week.
Ricketts went 2-0 on the week with a 0.58 earned run average in wins over No. 11 Oklahoma State and Kansas. She notched her 20th and 21st complete games of the year, including a five-inning shutout against OSU. Ricketts allowed just one earned run, five hits and two walks while striking out 16 and holding her opponents to a .122 batting average. She tallied a 1.000 fielding percentage with five assists. Ricketts hit .667 (2-for-3) with one run scored, three walks, an .833 on-base percentage and .667 slugging mark.
Against the Cowgirls, Ricketts allowed one run and one walk on three hits in an 11-1 five-inning win. She struck out seven in the game and held OSU to a .167 average. She went 1-for-1 at the plate with two walks and a run scored. In the first game of the Kansas series, Ricketts gave up two hits and one walk while allowing no runs. She struck out nine and held KU to a .087 batting average.
The Sooners close out the 2010 regular season on Thursday with a 6 p.m. non-conference game at North Texas. The game can be heard locally on KREF 1400 AM.
