NEW YORK CITY – The University of Oklahoma track and field teams wrapped up competition at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational on Saturday. Daniel Mazar took 11th in the men’s 800-meter championship race, finishing in one minute, 53.13 seconds. Evan Pierson competed in the men’s 200-meter championship preliminaries, crossing the line in 22.51.
A pair of OU women ran in the 200-meter championship prelims. Sherine Wells finished in 24.46, while Shelleyeka Rolle posted a personal-best 25.31 in the event.
A group of men’s pole vaulters also competed at the Varsity Apartments Invitational in Wichita, Kan. Jake Huddleston led the group, clearing a personal-best 16 feet, four inches. Caleb Gagliardi also cleared a personal best with a jump of 15-6.25. Seth Lewandowski also participated, jumping 13-6.50.
Oklahoma returns to action next weekend, Feb. 10-11, at the Tyson Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas.
