NORMAN, Okla. - Tyler Rody, a senior on last year's Oklahoma men's golf team, has been named a 2010 Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Rody is one of 119 Division I men's golfers to receive the honor. This past season, the Andover, Kan., product was named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team along with fellow OU senior Eric Durbin. Rody, a legal studies major, carded a career-best stroke average of 74.35 in 31 rounds as a senior, while posting three top-25 finishes.
Individuals awarded Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status must be a junior or senior academically, compete in two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70 percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, and have a stroke average under 76.0.
Recipients of the award must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
