LAWRENCE, Kan. - The University of Oklahoma volleyball team recorded its 20th win of the year in a four-set win at Kansas Wednesday evening (25-20, 24-26, 25-23, 25-17). OU hit .316, its best hitting percentage since Sept. 17, in the win. The Sooners had just 12 attack errors and half of those came in the second set. Oklahoma (20-9, 7-6 Big 12) reached the 20-win mark for the 15th time in program history and fourth under head coach Santiago Restrepo.
Suzy Boulavsky led the Sooners with 17 kills and a .432 hitting percentage. Boulavsky had just one attack error in 37 attempts and added a season-high five block assists to register 20.5 points. Tara Dunn added 15 kills, hitting .316 with three errors in 38 attempts.
Brianne Barker paced the offense to its .316 hitting percentage and added 47 assists of her own. Barker had one of OU's six service aces and added eight digs. Carlee Roethlisberger aided the front-row defense with four block assists and contributed seven kills. Sallie McLaurin also had seven kills and five total blocks, including OU's only block solo.
Maria Fernanda had a match-high 19 digs, while Keila Rodriguez had 15 as OU out-dug Kansas 61-55. Fernanda and Rodriguez also had two service aces each, one off from each of their career highs. The Sooners also out-blocked KU 9.5-6.0.
Allison Mayfield's 18 kills paced all players, and Chelsea Abers led the Jayhawks with a .348 hitting percentage. Nicole Tate registered a double-double with 47 assists and 11 digs. Tate and Brianne Riley led KU in the digs column with 11 each. The Jayhawks hit .211 with 26 attack errors.
