  Head Coach Patty Gasso

On the team’s performance over the weekend:
“I think today was definitely our best day. You could feel the energy and you could feel everybody invested in what we were doing. There were just some really outstanding offensive performances. Lauren [Chamberlain], Shelby [Pendley], Keilani [Ricketts], everybody participated big time and it was really enjoyable to watch. If you love offense -- and you love watching Georgia [Casey] sitting on a changeup and just screening it the fence. One thing I know you know, I want to go up there and put two outs on the scoreboard because this team scores 90 percent of their runs with two outs.

I think Keilani really had a good day on the mound because she was establishing the inside part of the plate. She did a really good job of getting some easy ground balls to our infield. The day just all-around was a really solid day on both sides. Every phase of the game was working very well.”

On if she’s seen a more powerful lineup than what the Sooners have:
“I’ve seen some, but they weren’t mine. I’m glad this one is mine. It’s just really athletic and calculating and it’s powerful and smart; it’s everything you want in a lineup. It’s been a fun part of the game.”

On moving Shelby Pendley to third in the batting order:
“I just mixed it up because she’s hot. Swapping her and [Jessica] Shults, Shults got hot in the five-spot so I can interchange for the most part in any way and be in a good place. And Shelby had a phenomenal weekend.”

  Senior Keilani Ricketts

On what worked for her in the game against Northern Colorado:
“We had to adjust to their pitches because we weren’t used to them so I was just trying to think to stay late and go opposite field, and that’s what I did.”

  Sophomore Lauren Chamberlain

On what worked for her this weekend:
“They were throwing a lot of off-speed this weekend, and I just wanted to make that part of my game better. I just got after good pitches and got deep in a lot of counts, just making sure I’m swinging at good pitches.

On the confidence these wins give the team:
“It’s good. We had a good weekend at home, and that’s important to have a good weekend at home with our fans. Like Coach said, we were having a good time in the dugout getting our energy up, ready to go up against some tough teams in Fullerton. We’re very ready.”
