NORMAN – The Oklahoma women’s gymnastics team displayed its depth in a win over No. 6 Denver and held onto the No. 1 ranking after posting a road score of 197.700.  

The Sooners, who posted their fifth score of 197.700 or better, have now been the No. 1 team in the nation for a total of 58 weeks since the start of the 2015 season.

OU sits in the top spot for the sixth consecutive week with an average of 197.813. Florida remained the No. 2 team with a 197.670 average and UCLA rounds out the top three with a 197.575. Utah (197.196) and LSU (196.850) it in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Seven Sooners hold 22 individual rankings, highlighted by three gymnasts in the top 10 of the all-around rankings. Freshman Olivia Trautman is still in the top spot with a 39.725 average, followed by junior Maggie Nichols at No. 2 with a 39.700 average. Senior Brenna Dowell (39.587) sits in seventh, while sophomore Anastasia Webb (39.400) ranks 11th.

Trautman and Nichols rank in the top 25 on all four events and the all-around. Trautman ranks second on floor (9.946), nint on vault (9.879), 17th on beam (9.867) and 21st on bars (9.875). Nichols is ranked first on vault (9.950) and beam (9.955), second on bars (9.945) and 12th on floor (9.900).

Dowell is ranked on three events, sitting at No. 5 on vault (9.905), tied for sixth on beam (9.900) and eighth on floor (9.915). Webb ranks 17th on floor (9.892) and 20th on bars (9.883).

Senior Nicole Lehrmann and junior Jade Degouveia are each ranked on a pair of events. Lehrmann ranks fifth on bars with a 9.921 average and is tied with Trautman for ninth on vault (9.879). Degouveia is fourth on vault (9.908) and 24th on floor (9.883). Sophomore Evy Schoepfer made her beam debut on Sunday and is tied for 12th with a 9.875.

The Sooners return to Oklahoma for the annual Perfect 10 Challenge Friday, Feb 15, at 6:45 p.m. CT. The meet will be held at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
