NORMAN — Start times and TV information for two 2018 home and two road Oklahoma football games were announced Thursday.
OU's Sept. 1 season opener against Florida Atlantic will kick off at 11 a.m. CT in Norman, while the Sept. 8 home contest against UCLA will start at noon CT. Both games will be televised by FOX.
The Sooners' Sept. 15 game at Iowa State will begin at 11 a.m. CT and air on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU. OU's regular season finale at West Virginia on Friday, Nov. 23 will kick at 7 p.m. CT and be televised by ESPN.
Oklahoma's contest against Florida Atlantic will constitute the first meeting between the Sooners and Owls. FAU went 11-3 in 2017 under head coach Lane Kiffin, won all eight of its Conference USA contests and beat Akron 50-3 in the Boca Raton Bowl.
The Sooners hold a 3-1 all-time record against UCLA and are 2-0 against the Bruins in Norman (both wins came with OU ranked No. 1 nationally). In 1986, Oklahoma topped fourth-ranked UCLA 38-3, and in 2003 the Sooners posted a 59-24 victory behind an NCAA-record three punt returns for touchdowns by Antonio Perkins. The Bruins won the most recent meeting, 24-21, in 2005 in Pasadena, Calif.
OU owns a 74-6-2 (.915) all-time record against Iowa State and is 36-2-1 (.936) vs. the Cyclones in Ames. The Sooners have won 23 consecutive games at ISU and 34 of the last 35 (ISU's two home wins came in 1960 and 1928). The Cyclones posted a 38-31 triumph in Norman last season to snap an 18-game series losing streak.
Oklahoma is 8-2 all-time against West Virginia, including 3-0 in Morgantown. The Sooners are 6-0 in the series since the Mountaineers joined the Big 12 Conference and won 59-31 last season.
