AMES, Iowa – The University of Oklahoma volleyball team fell at Iowa State, 3-1, at Hilton Coliseum on Saturday afternoon. The Sooners won a marathon first set, 31-29, before the Cyclones rallied back to win each of the next three by scores of 25-15, 25-23 and 25-22.
OU junior outside hitter Alyssa Enneking (League City, Texas) led all players with 21 kills and added 18 digs for her team-leading sixth double-double of the season. Junior outside hitter Madison Drescher (Southlake, Texas) was second on the team with 17 kills.
Four ISU players netted double-figure kill totals, including Samara West with a team-high 18 on a .371 attack rate. Jess Schaben posted 17 with nine digs and six blocks. Alexis Donaway chipped in with 12 kills and nine digs, while Grace Lazard added 11 kills.
Cyclones setter Monique Harris dished out 50 assists and collected 13 digs in the double-double effort. Libero Hali Hillegas picked up 25 digs. Oklahoma junior setter Audrey Alford (Norman, Okla.) totaled 42 assists and seven digs. Freshman libero Kira Morikawa (Honolulu, Hawaii) and senior defensive specialist Emma Kelly (Houston, Texas) each notched 13 digs.
The Sooners are in non-conference action on Wednesday against North Texas in Denton.
