Sooner Sports TV Serves Up Tennis

NORMAN, Okla. -- Sooner Sports TV powered by FOX Sports takes its next leap in complete coverage of Sooner Athletics when it broadcasts live matches of its nationally-ranked men’s and women’s tennis programs in April.

The fourth-ranked OU men host No. 6 Baylor Friday, April 11, at 5:30 p.m. and the No. 18 OU women host No. 23 Oklahoma State for their regular-season finale Saturday, April 19, at 12 p.m.

Chad McKee and hall of fame and former OU tennis coach Paul Lockwood have the call for the action.

Both matches will be broadcast as live premium content at and televised in tape delay on FOX Sports Oklahoma the following day. subscriptions start as low as $9.99.

The men’s match versus Baylor will debut on FS Oklahoma Saturday, April 12, at 4 p.m., and the women’s Bedlam matchup will air Sunday, April 20, at 7 p.m.

Oklahoma’s men’s tennis program, coached by John Roddick, is 18-2 this season and reached a No. 1 ranking for the first time in program history this season. They are the two-time defending Big 12 Champions.

The Sooner women’s tennis team, coached by David Mullins, is 15-3 and 5-1 in Big 12 Conference play. Oklahoma natives Whitney Ritchie and Mia Lancaster lead the squad that also reached a program high rating this year.
