History & Tradition

Founded in 2008-09, the OU rowing program has quickly risen to the top. In just seven seasons, Head Coach Leeanne Crain and the Sooners have won two Big 12 and two Conference USA titles and became the first Big 12 team to compete at the NCAA Rowing Championship in 2013 before returning again in 2014. Along the way, the Sooners have amassed six conference Rower of the Year honors and five Coach of the Year awards in addition to numerous national awards and unparalleled success in the classroom.
