  • Oklahoma is 9-3 when scoring in the first inning and 20-8 when scoring first this season.
  • The Sooners are 22-4 when scoring six runs or more.
  • The Sooners are 23-40-1 against ranked opponents under Pete Hughes and 41-36 as a ranked team.
  • With a three-run shot from Austin O'Brien followed by a solo jack from Brylie Ware in the first inning, the Sooners registered back-to-back homers for the first time since Brady Lindsly and Kyle Mendenhall paired to do so on March 10 in the seventh inning against Central Connecticut (Game 1).
  • The Sooners have won 13 consecutive rubber games in Big 12 play.
  • OU improved to 11-0 on Sundays and 4-0 with the game tied after the eighth inning.

Ben Hollas

  • Tied career highs with three hits on five at bats and two doubles (his ninth and 10th of the year).
  • His double in the bottom of the ninth proved to be the winning run as pinch-runner Kyler Murray crossed the plate on O'Brien's walk-off hit.

Austin O'Brien:

  • Hit his 8th home run of the season in the first inning, plating the first runs of the game on a three-run shot to left.
  • Finished with a career-high five RBI on the day. Previous career high was 4 (ORU, 4/4/17).

JB Olson

  • Notched his 19th career relief outing of two-plus scoreless innings.
  • Secured the win and improved to 5-1 on the year.

Brylie Ware

  • Gave the Sooners back-to-back home runs in the first when he followed O'Brien's homer with a jack of his own down the left field line.
  • Logged his first career multi-home-run game when he went deep in his next at bat (3rd inning). All five of his home runs this season have come in the last seven games.
  • Last Sooner to homer twice in a game was Steele Walker at Kansas State (5/5/17).
  • Tied a career highs with three hits on four at bats and three RBI.

Brandon Zaragoza:

  • Started his 41st consecutive game at shortstop.
