WACO, Texas -- No. 20 Oklahoma started strong, but could not overcome No. 2 Baylor's shooting performance as the Sooners fell, 92-58, on Sunday at Ferrell Center.
OU (16-6, 7-3 Big 12) grabbed a 20-15 lead after the first quarter by knocking down three early treys from Peyton Little and Gabbi Ortiz. The Sooners were the first team to lead Baylor (21-1, 10-0 Big 12) after the opening frame since the Lady Bears faced Connecticut earlier this season.
Baylor used a 15-0 run to begin the second quarter to grab the lead from the Sooners. The Lady Bears finished with a .500 field goal percentage and combined to shoot .628 from the floor in the second and third quarters.
Little led the Sooners with 15 points on 5-of-17 shooting and tied her career high with five steals, while Maddie Manning finished with near double-double, adding 11 points and nine rebounds.
Ortiz recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds to earn her second career double-double. Vionise Pierre-Louis also finished in double figures with 10 points and pulled down six rebounds off the bench.
Baylor's Alexis Jones picked up her first career triple-double with 24 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in 31 minutes of action. Khadijiah Cave added 16 points and nine rebounds off the bench for the Lady Bears.
Nina Davis had 13 points, Kalani Brown recorded 11 and Alexis Prince added in 10 as Baylor finished with five players in double figures.
OU finished with a season-low .260 mark (20-of-77) from the field and .231 (6-of-26) from beyond the arc. The Sooners posted a .800 free throw percentage, finishing 12-for-15 at the foul line. Over the last four games, OU is 60-for-70 (.857) from the charity stripe.
The Sooners return home to face Kansas on Wednesday for Sooner Jr. Fan Field Trip Day inside Lloyd Noble Center. Game time is set for 10:30 a.m. CT. The contest will air on Fox Sports Oklahoma.
